Access and Admission Competitions for International Students
Non-European international students wishing to attend ISAG's degree courses can apply through the special competition for International Students, provided they fulfil the required access and admission conditions.
National students from countries outside the European Union Nationals of countries that do not belong to the European Union can attend ISAG as international students. The access routes for international students are different, depending on the cycle of studies they wish to apply for.
Students can apply for a degree programme if they: - Are not Portuguese nationals; - Are not nationals of a member state of the European Union; - Are not family members of Portuguese citizens or citizens of a member state of the European Union; - Have not been legally resident in Portugal for more than two years, uninterruptedly, on 1st January of the year in which they intend to enter ISAG, and for this purpose the time of residence for study does not count; - They are not beneficiaries, on 1 January of the year in which they intend to enter, of equal rights and duties status granted under an international treaty between the Portuguese State and the State of which they are a national.
Conditions for access and admission: International students who fulfil the following conditions may apply for the places available on the degree programmes at ISAG: - Hold a qualification giving access to higher education, understood as any diploma or certificate issued by a competent authority attesting to having passed an educational programme that gives them the right to apply for and enter higher education in the country in which it was awarded; - Hold a Portuguese secondary school diploma or a legally equivalent qualification.
The entry conditions are: - Verification of the specific academic qualification for entry to the cycle of studies in question through a written exam, taken in the language in which the cycle of studies is taught; - Verification of knowledge of the Portuguese language, the language in which teaching will be provided in this cycle of studies.
Application process:
Application until 24 May 2024: 175,00 €
The application is made online, and is subject to payment of the due fee, which will not be refunded, even if there is a preliminary rejection, exclusion or withdrawal of the application. The application is valid only for the academic year in which it is made.
Documents required: The following documents are required to submit the application: - When authorised by the applicant, a copy of the personal identification document or passport, which expressly states the applicant's nationality; - Declaration on honour that the applicant does not have Portuguese nationality and is not covered by any of the conditions that do not confer the status of International Student; - Document proving completion of Portuguese secondary education or equivalent, or, - If it does not correspond to Portuguese secondary education, a document proving that it provides access to higher education in the country in which it was obtained, indicating the final classification and the grading scale in which it is expressed. -The documents must be legalised by a Portuguese consular agent or by the Hague Apostille, these legalisations being carried out in the country of origin of the documents.
Students from European Union member states Nationals of states belonging to the European Union can apply to attend a degree programme at ISAG in the same way as Portuguese students. Applications for degrees are made through the Institutional Competition, and candidates must fulfil the same access conditions.
