Initial level of Spanish for professional purposes. (A1). This Curricular Unit follows the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Objectives and learning outcomes The main objective of this Curricular Unit is to teach students the tools and concepts needed to express themselves with a clear and precise language in a work situation.
Skills to develop In the contact sessions the teacher will focus the following skills: listening comprehension, oral interaction, written expression, grammatical and lexical acquisition. At the end of this Curricular Unit, the student should be able to: - Produce simple sentences about their interests, professional and everyday life. - Ask and answer questions about his own or others and about their needs in a work environment. - Develop both intercultural competence and linguistic knowledge, skills and attitudes that enable the student to communicate and overcome cultural boundaries.
Programme
I. Communicative functions: Formal and informal greetings. Give and ask for personal information: nationality, origin, age, etc. Introduce oneself. Resources of communication control. Ask and tell the time. Expressing habitual actions. Describe professional activities. Describe objects: color, shape, size, etc. Express how often we do things. Talking about family. Talking about actions in progress. Describe a person: physique and character. Compare people or things. Describe relationships. Express preferences. Talk about hobbies. Show agreement or disagreement. Buy a product. Ask for prices, quantities and qualities.
II. Grammar: Personal pronouns (subject). Verbs in the present tense: ser, estar, tener, ir. The alphabet. Relationship between graphs and phonemes. Concordance gender and number. Defined and undefined articles. Numerals. Reflexive verbs. Possessive adjectives. Adverbs of place. Hay. Demonstratives. Interrogatives. Perfect tense. The negation. Express duration. Frequency expressions. Verbal circumlocution: estar + gerundio, ir + a + infinitive, hay+que. Simultaneity al + infinitive. Pero/pero que. The comparison. Letters: formal, informal. Verb gustar.
III. Lexical contents: professions and companies. Personal and professional data. Itineraries. The office. Sports. Business organization chart Agenda and planning. TimeBusiness and leisure activities. Opinions about work. Remuneration and taxes. The workday. A new technology: Wi-Fi. Negotiation. specific lexicon of tourism.
IV. Cultural Contents: Introduction to the knowledge and professional, socio-cultural and intercultural behavior of Spanish-speaking countries.

The syllabus content combines active pedagogical practices of communication with systematic exercises for the learning of the vocabulary and grammar necessary to reach the level A1 of the CEFR.

We use the Entorno Laboral, Edelsa reference manual as a method of learning Spanish for professional purposes, because it has a communicative approach that favors the use of multimedia tools and compliance with CEFR directives.

The communicative approach and use of multimedia tools enhances and favors the acquisition of the required competences in the level to be achieved in this curricular unit by simulating and reproducing the situations in which the new user of the language will be in his professional and personal life.
