BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE CURRICULAR UNIT B1 Threshold or intermediate This CU follows The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment, (CEFR), as a reference guideline.
AIMS The approach regards language users as social agents who develop general and particular communicative competences while trying to achieve their everyday goals.
SKILLS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES At the end of this CU the student will be able to: -Understand the gist of clear texts, in standard language, if they involve well-known topics -related to work, studies or leisure. -Deal with most of the situations that may arise during a trip to where the language is used. -Produce simple, coherent texts about well-known topics or issues of personal interest. -Describe experiences, events, wishes and hopes, as well as briefly justify opinions or explain plans.

I. Functional Contents: Talking about usual actions. Introducing your entrepise. Describe your job. Talking about the past. Reporting speeches. Expressing obligation and prohibition. Summarizing. Expressing conditions. Giving advises. Expressing wishes, necessities. Making assessments.
II. Grammatical Contents: All structures of A.1 and A.2. levels. Present tense revision. Past tenses revisión. Imperative. Neutral Article. Future. Present of the Conjunctive. Pluscuamperfecto past tense. Diacritic accent. Connectors. Placement of Pronouns.
III. Lexical Contents: A wide range of familiar, social and business vocabulary.
IV. Cultural Contents: Getting used to the principal traits and differences between all Spanish speaking countries.

Learning Methods
Students are encouraged to learn with deductive and inductive methodology inferences through theory and practice related to grammar, reading, writing, listening, speaking and vocabulary. The students are also encouraged to develop intercultural competence with a combination of knowledge, skills, and attitudes, which enable individuals to communicate and interact across cultural boundaries.
