Code: LTU1645    Acronym: TPRO

Subject: 2018/2019 - 2S

Teaching Area: Tourism

Hours Effectively Taught

Teaching - Hours

Estágio: 5,00

Aims, Skills and Learning Outcomes

The course Research Project II is essentially applied and included in the scope of the matters addressed throughout the degree. The work can focus on the diagnosis of a problem identified in the study of a new problem and/or the application of methods and tools to solve a problem that has been identified by others or by the student. The project may, if there are conditions for such, be implemented in the school environment, and must result in an entirely individual and unpublished work.

Programme

Each student should develop a report under the guidance of a Faculty Advisor nominated by ISAG. There will be tutorial sessions where they will present and discuss the work performed and the evolution of the final report. The size of the report should not exceed 30 pages, excluding the cover, contents, appendices and attachments. The reports will be presented and defended publicly.

Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the curricular unit's learning objectives

Project work II presents a fundamentally practical learning component, aiming at students being able to apply the knowledge obtained in the curricular units taught to a study.

Assessment Components

Description Type Time (hours) Conclusion Date
Attendance (estimated)  Lessons  0
Project Work  Relatório/Dissertação  240
  Total: 240

Continuous Assessment

The student should develop a report under the guidance of a Faculty Advisor who will evaluate the final quality of the work produced. The combination between the work and the report submitted by the student will result in 60% of the final grade, and the presentation/defense will result in 40%. Presentations/defenses will be made before a jury composed by Faculty Advisor and another teacher nominated for that purpose. The jury will perform a previous assessment of the work to be presented. The arrangement of the presentations will be posted in an appropriate place and communicated to the students by the Faculty Advisor.

Closing date for the Report I: July 10, 2019

Final Exam

The student who fails to submit the Research Project, as well as the student who is absent or fails the defense on the dates defined by the Internship Commission, except for compelling reasons, will be given the final grade of disapproval and may require a new evaluation at the time of appeal which, in this case, will be in the worker-student season.

Demonstration of the coherence between the teaching methodologies and the learning outcomes

The teaching methodology aims to promote learning in the practical field. The student must essentially develop an original study that seeks to respond to a new or existing problem.
