| Description: | Structure 1. The Disciplinary Council is composed by three members, being the Chairman of the Board of Directors, the President of the Technical and Scientific Council and the President of the Pedagogic Council, being chaired by the President of the Board of Directors, who has a casting vote. 2. In the case of infractions attributed to members of the Disciplinary Council, the Institution will appoint, for this specific purpose, a substitute, chosen from among the members of the other academic bodies. 3. The term of office of members of the Disciplinary Board shall be two years, with effect from the end of the school year in question (31 August), unless removal from office is based on disciplinary reasons. Chairman of the Board of Directors: Joaquim Hierro Lopes Responsibilities 1. The Disciplinary Board shall be responsible for: a) Investigate and evaluate disciplinary infractions attributed to members of the student body; b) investigating and appraising disciplinary infractions against members of the Pedagogical and Technical Scientific Councils, teaching staff, research staff and technical staff; c) investigating and appraising disciplinary infractions against members of the administrative and auxiliary staff. 2. The Disciplinary Board, when it considers it convenient, may propose to the Institution, the appointment of an instructor with legal training for the instruction of the disciplinary proceedings. 3. At the end of the process, the Disciplinary Board shall send a report to the Institution for its consideration and final decision and may, in a duly reasoned manner, indicate which sanctions it considers should be applied. |
