| Description: | Structure 1. The Pedagogic Council is a body composed by six elements, being three representatives of the teaching staff and three representatives of the student body, elected by their peers, in accordance with the respective regulations. 2. The Chairman of the Pedagogic Council shall be elected by its members, from among the representatives of the teaching staff, and in the event of a tie, the member with the most seniority in the Institute shall have, for this specific purpose, the casting vote. Responsibilities a) draw up its own regiment; b) give an opinion on pedagogical guidelines, teaching and learning methodologies and student assessment processes; c) to promote regular surveys of teaching and student bodies, including the evaluation of teachers' pedagogical performance; d) To propose to the Board of Directors the recruitment, dismissal and replacement of teachers; e) To deliberate on the requirements of the pedagogical forum addressed to this body; f) To analyze and deliberate on the recommendations coming from the Student Ombudsman; g) Issue an opinion on the regulations of the study cycles submitted by the Technical and Scientific Council; h) Give its opinion on the creation of study cycles and on the syllabuses taught; i) Provide opinions on the institution and school awards; j) Provide opinions on the academic calendar and examination maps of the institute; k) Promote scientific and cultural initiatives, including circum-school activities; l) To be represented on the Disciplinary Board; m) To pronounce itself in accordance with the law on the Annual Activity Report, when requested to do so; n) Deliberate on other matters submitted to it by other management bodies.
