Message from the President


I am very pleased to welcome you to the ISAG website, through which I hope you can easily get to know our institution.

This "entrance door" of ISAG is intended for all members of our school community, students, teachers, and collaborators, who, through the respective access keys, will be able to interact with the pedagogical, administrative and management services of the School.

But it is also aimed at any cyberspace "surfer" interested in knowing ISAG, namely, the student candidate who, by this way, may have virtual contact with this institution, which is one of the oldest and most prestigious in the North of Portugal.

However, I am convinced that, despite our permanent efforts of innovation and technological updating, there will always be doubts to clarify and issues that, in the context of this site, may have a less efficient solution.
Therefore, I am pleased to invite you to visit ISAG's facilities, to get to know directly and personally our reality, which distinguishes us from other similar Institutions, or to participate in the many initiatives programmed and timely promoted.

VISION

It is intended that ISAG is identified as a private higher education institution of high level, dedicated to the creation, transmission and dissemination of culture and knowledge of a professional nature, duly recognized as one of the most prestigious, qualified and innovative in the country and in the European context, and with a strong relationship of trust with the school community, business and other organizations.

MISSION

ISAG's mission is based on contributing to the competitiveness of people and organizations, through the creation of innovative knowledge and higher education of professionals with a global vision of business and management, based on solid ethical training.

VALUES

ISAG accomplishes its institutional mission with reference to the following set of core values:

1. Diversity and Globality: ISAG believes in diversity and globality, defending that a teaching and knowledge production environment free from prejudice and any type of discrimination, in which there is room for different opinions, teaching and learning styles, contributes to leverage people's potential; 

2. Innovation: Only through innovation is it possible to develop solutions to problems. ISAG believes that it is essential to provide an environment that develops, in students and teachers, the ability to create and innovate in the teaching, learning and research process;

Associated with entrepreneurial capacity is the ability to lead, to generate mobilizing energy for the realization of ideas, projects and objectives;

Preparing future professionals to make thoughtful and transparent decisions, based on socially correct practices, is fundamental and transversal to all ISAG training.

OBJECTIVES

The ISAG shall pursue, among others, the following objectives:

a) To provide higher education in undergraduate and master's programmes, as well as specialisation and further training courses and activities;

b) To carry out quality technical and scientific research, promoting the dissemination of its results, the social and economic valorisation of knowledge and technological innovation through teaching, publications or other forms of communication and transfer to the economic and social fabric;

c) To create internal and external evaluation, quality assurance and community accountability devices based on known standards;

d) To ensure the provision of specialized services to the community and contribute to the development of the country by organizing partnerships with companies and institutions;

e) To stimulate cultural creation and the development of critical and entrepreneurial spirit, as well as reflective thinking and professional competitiveness of students;

f) To provide personal and professional fulfilment to the members of the community, namely through the promotion of artistic, cultural and sporting activities, in an educational environment of dialogue and tolerance;

g) To ensure conditions for the training, qualification and professional development of teachers, researchers and non-teaching staff;

h) To encourage internationalisation and cultural, scientific and technological cooperation, ensuring the mobility of students, teachers and researchers and supporting the international projection of their work;

i) To stimulate the connection with former students, promoting their participation in the life of the educational establishment;

j) To promote the knowledge of the major issues of today, in a context of globalization, in particular national, regional and European;

k) To institute prizes and incentives aimed at recognizing merit, distinguishing quality and supporting activities that value the institution at national and international level;

l) To promote and value the Portuguese language and culture, namely through a connection with the Portuguese speaking countries;

m) To develop the relationship with the northern region of the country and, in particular, with the Metropolitan Area of Porto, contributing to the enhancement of its cultural, technical-scientific and social life.
